Why Your Website is a Lot Like My Garden...(and you don't want it to be!)
Setting up your website is a big thing - especially when you're just starting out. So, once it's done - it's up and running, you've added a wonderful About Page, a detailed and enticing Sales page and some gorgeous brand photos and testimonials are sprinkled about.. Heck, you've even started a blog! Well, once that's all done, it can be tempting to breathe a sigh of relief, wipe your hands of it all and move on to the next project.
That gorgeous website of yours needs some love and attention or its going to gather dust, and all that time and effort you put in will be wasted....
My Mum is a keen gardener and when I go back home to stay with my folks, I love to walk around their beautiful garden and appreciate the gorgeous sights and smells. Growing up, I always just assumed that MY garden would look like that too.
You see, it turns out that gardens (like websites) need regular tending. You can't just plant a bunch of beautiful flowers and then leave them. It'll look lovely for a few days, maybe even a few weeks - but without ongoing care, those flowers will wither, your garden will become overgrown and all that beauty will gradually disappear.
You see where I'm going with this? 😉
If you don't want your website to end up like my poor overgrown garden, then there are a few things that you need to be doing on a regular basis. Go get your pad and pen because I'm about to lay it all out for you...
