I’ve spent the last nine years telling people that if you want clients, you need to sell.
But what if that isn’t true?
What if you didn’t have to follow a script, build a funnel, or say things that make you curl up a bit inside, just to get someone to buy from you?
What if you could attract clients simply by showing up as yourself; consistently, clearly, and in a way that actually feels good to you?
The kind of content that builds trust without pressure.
That creates connection before a sales page is ever clicked.
That makes someone say, “I want to work with her”, without you ever needing to “sell” them.
That’s what I’ve come to believe is not only possible, but necessary, especially now.
So much of the advice out there about how to get clients is built on urgency, tactics, and noise.
‘Speak to their pain points’.
‘Create scarcity’.
‘Be visible everywhere’.
And if that doesn’t work? You just need to ‘show up more’, ‘work on your mindset.’ or ‘nail your offer’.
But for so many service providers - especially the thoughtful, values-led, slightly-introverted ones, it all starts to feel… wrong.
You’ve probably tried the scripts and downloaded the templates - but something about it never quite fit - and that misalignment is draining.
I know that feeling. I’ve lived it too - and it’s why I started looking for a different way.
What I’ve come to believe is this:
Your voice matters as much as your strategy.
Clients don’t choose you just because you said you can deliver the result they want. If results were the only thing that mattered, everyone would go to the most experienced, most qualified person out there - and if that were happening… well I for one, wouldn’t have ever had a client!
They choose you because something in your content feels true.
Because your message resonates.
Because they feel seen and understood.
Because your words sound like they came from a real person, not a recycled template.
The clients you actually want to work with - the ones who respect your boundaries, value your work, and show up ready… They don’t need to be pressured into working with you, they just need to feel connected.
And true connection comes from showing up, being you - and then doing it again.
Introducing my VOICE Framework
It's this idea, that we can actually get clients without the hard sell, that led me to create the VOICE Framework.
I believe that this is what your content actually needs in order to resonate with your ideal clients.
VOICE stands for:
Values & Vision: What matters to you, and why you do what you do
Original Point of View: The beliefs that make you different, and worth listening to
Individuality: The tone, energy, and personality that makes your content feel like you. And yes - this includes the real-life stuff too, like your quirks, and the things that make people feel like they’d want to be your friend. For me, that’s everything from being a massive nerd who plays World of Warcraft to navigating perimenopause and how that impacts my business.
Credibility: Your lived experience, lessons, and the proof that builds trust.
Expression: This is more about the how than the what... What platform you choose, what format your content takes.
I believe that these are the elements that make content magnetic. These are the things that actually make people want to work with you - or at least, the RIGHT people. The people who are aligned, ready and committed.
Scarcity tactics attract people in scarcity.
Being inauthentic attracts people who aren’t the right fit.
And any kind of content that doesn’t feel aligned leads to … well, nowhere good.
My VOICE Framework is how you build a body of work that attracts the right people without having to be someone you're not.
It’s how you let the very best fit clients come to you.
And it’s how I want to help more business owners show up online: as themselves.
When your content is rooted in your voice rather than a formula or strategy, everything changes.
You stop second-guessing every post.
You stop sounding like everyone else.
You stop trying to perform confidence, and start building it instead.
It’s not a ‘quick fix’ - it requires being ready to play the long game. But in my opinion, it’s so worth it.
You start attracting the kind of people who say, ‘I’ve been reading your posts for a while and I just know I want to work with you.’
You start creating content that feels clearer and truer - content you actually feel proud of and that you want to keep sharing.
Showing up stops feeling overwhelming and heavy and starts feeling like a joy and a privilege.
This is the direction I’m moving in, and the foundation for everything I’m building in my business for the foreseeable future. I’m not interested in teaching people how to game the algorithm or write posts that get likes but don’t lead to anything real.
I care about helping you build something that lasts. I want to help you to find your true voice - one that resonates deeply with your ideal clients. I want to help you develop a presence online that feels grounded, consistent, and unmistakably you.
If you’re reading this and thinking, ‘I want that’, then I’d love to hear from you.
If you’re curious about how this might work in your own business, and would like my help, just drop me a message (colette@colettebroomhead.com).
You can be sure there’ll be no pitch, no pressure - just a conversation to see if this is something we could shape together.
